Lucian Wren
and Beau Deverel have always been friends. They think they know everything
about each other, but they both hide a secret desire. They’re devoted to each
other, but they’ve never revealed the depth of their feelings.
When Lucian
starts a private investigation service, and Beau joins him in the fledgling
agency, little do they know what a delicious, close encounter on their first
case will lead to.
This case is
bizarre. Is there a hidden reason the client has chosen their newly formed
agency for such an important job?
As Beau and
Lucian dive headlong into the mystery, their relationship deepens, and their

Beau grinned, and cleared
away the paper cups and the half of donut, Lucian left on the napkin. He
checked the time on his phone. “Starling should be here soon, huh?”
Lucian moved to his desk
chair. “Any moment I’d say.”
The buzzer on the downstairs
door gave a short burring sound.
Beau glanced at Lucian. “On
the dot.”
After a moment, Jack
Starling strode into the office.
Lucian stood and went
forward with his hand outstretched to Jack.
“Hi Mr. Starling, it’s good
to see you again. It’s great that you could come in and answer some questions.”
Beau hovered close to the
desk where Lucian placed a chair for Jack Starling and before Lucian could
introduce him, he spoke up.
“Can I get you some coffee,
Mr. Starling? Beau Deverel, we’ve not met before.” He offered his hand to Jack
Starling.
Their client gripped Beau’s
hand to shake as he answered. “I’m good. It’s not long since I had coffee.” He
let go of Beau’s hand and sank onto the chair in front of Lucian who sat
sideways at the end of the desk holding a pen and the yellow pad.
“You said you’d made
progress.” Jack stared at Lucian.
Lucian glanced at Beau who
gave him an encouraging smile.
“My colleague and I have
located a Matisse that fits the description of the one you told me is stolen.”
Jack Starling’s eyes widened
at Lucian. “You have? Is it the same as the photograph I gave you?” His voice
took on a skeptical tone.
“It’s the same as far as I
can tell. We’ve not seen the actual canvas only a photograph in a gallery
catalog. They’ll be auctioning the artwork later this month.”
A frown creased Jack
Starling’s forehead and he raised his voice.
“Auctioned ... by whom?
Which gallery ... and where? I looked at the main auction house sites only a
day ago.”
Lucian took a deep breath.
“Mr. Starling, before I go into those details I really need the answer to
questions I have.”
Jack crossed his arms and
looked over at Beau, who sat on the edge of a nearby chair. “I will have a cup
of coffee after all, please.” He looked away and into Lucian’s eyes. “Fire
away.”
Beau practically ran to the
coffee maker.

'Wren and Deverel'
... it wasn’t just Lucien and Beau evolving love story that made it compulsive reading (that was the icing on the cake for me) but the intricate and clever storyline that Elodie Parkes delivered running parallel alongside our two MCs, it was first class. It was feasible, I could see the chain of events unfolding and it made compulsive reading and I LOVED that ending….
Please note this book is 18+ gay male erotic romantic mystery and contains sex in the love scenes
