Rebecca Washington is a girl in control. #newadult #romance 'Prude' from @evernightpub and @JordanStephanie

PRUDE
Labeled: book one

By Jordan S Gray
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: 9/14/2016
Publisher: Evernight Publishing

Rebecca Washington is a girl in control. Well, at least when it comes to acing her college classes. The rest of the time, she seems to be at the mercy of everyone else. Like when she’s dumped in front of her peers, hit on right afterwards by a jerk for some stupid bet, and then paired up with the jerk for a lit project.

In order to maintain her perfect GPA, Rebecca will need to give a stellar presentation while ignoring the prying eyes that will be staring at her. When her partner, Derek, starts to ease her fears of public speaking with his laidback attitude, she’s forced to confront her new feelings about him and his charming smile. Rebecca knows falling for a guy who teases her for being a prudish nerd can only end badly, but what if it’s just another thing out of her control?

Read an Excerpt:

Derek grinned. “What do you think about your ex’s girlfriend?”
“Obviously that she’s annoyingly beautiful and, apparently, fun.” The word left a bad taste in her mouth.
“I could say the same about you right now.”
Rebecca felt her face redden even more. She pushed her bangs behind her ear, trying to find something else to stare at other than Derek’s mischievous eyes. Nothing seemed worthy.
“I know we’ve been doing well with the whole friends’ thing,” Derek started.
Rebecca cocked an eyebrow. “What now? Are you going to make fun of me?”
“I wouldn’t dream of it,” he said. “I was just wondering if, as a friend, I’m allowed to ask you to dance.”
She let out a choking laugh. “Here? We’re at a party.”
He gestured to the several groups of people who were dancing. “People dance at parties.”
“I don’t think we should.”
“Because you don’t want to, or because you don’t want to draw attention to yourself?”
“Maybe the latter,” Rebecca mumbled to the ground.
Derek took her hand, pulling her to the center of the living room. At first, their position terrified Rebecca, until she realized it was the most popular dancing spot. In the crowd, she felt shielded from prying eyes, like it was just the two of them.
There’d been times, when Rebecca was home alone and listening to music, where she’d danced. But she had never done so in a public setting or with someone else, and in heels too. She bit her lip nervously as Derek guided her hands around his neck.
“Relax,” he muttered. “It’s just a dance.”
His statement didn’t reassure her at all. Her heart beat faster as she realized that she could feel every inch of him. They were so close. Her head was practically resting on his shoulder, and her body was pressed firmly against his.
The feel of his hands on her waist made her shiver, her crop top inching up slightly as they began to move. Rebecca tried to focus on the beat, but it was really no use. Her fingers clasped together as she mentally reminded herself that playing with Derek’s hair was not a friendly thing to do—even if it looked really soft.
They swayed together, his hands staying rigidly in place. Rebecca wondered what he was thinking about and why he’d decided to dance with her, but it was no use. Derek was likely someone she’d never fully understand.
The song switched to something with a faster pace and erratic rhythm, but Rebecca hardly noticed. Derek moved a hand away from her hip, leaving Rebecca feeling a little colder, until he used it to brush a piece of her fallen bangs behind her ear.
She had no idea how her legs and hips were still moving because, on the inside, Rebecca was totally, completely still. Her eyes fluttered closed as she felt his breath on her neck. Every single one of her nerves were on fire, zapping around in her body like lightening. Rebecca had never felt more alive … or scared.
One of her hands drifted down to Derek’s chest, and she pressed against it. She hoped that he’d know she was trying to get away, but he only pulled her closer to him. Rebecca let out a gasp, clutching his neck and shoulder tightly.
“Are you having fun?” he asked softly.
Rebecca nodded once, unable to muster up anything coherent. Her brain was shutting down, and she wished it was from embarrassment or anger. No, this was something entirely different. So often Rebecca felt like two-halves of her were always in disagreement, but now, every part of her felt the same. She didn’t want him to let go.

An email arrives from a long lost friend #MMromance #newrelease from @EncompassInk

Hawk v Falcon: Surprise at the Candy Apple

When Chris Falconer receives an email from his lost high school friend, Justin, ten years after he last saw him, Chris is overjoyed. The two boys had shared kisses and sworn love for each other, but before their love could be tested, Justin’s mother abruptly took Justin out of school, and they disappeared.
Multi-talented and handsome Chris is a cage fighter at Jack’s Clubhouse, and works in the Candy Apple club. He writes a column for a fitness blog and keeps himself busy, but deep down he’s never forgotten Justin—turns out Justin has never forgotten Chris either.
On a modeling assignment in New York, Justin sees Chris in a cafĂ© and can’t help contacting him, but his ex, Todd, who doesn’t want Justin but doesn’t want Chris to have him either, has plans to throw their reunion into disarray.
So begins a love story full of emotion. Will Todd succeed? Or this time, will Justin and Chris have the happy ending and delicious love they deserve?
In the second MM romance from the Candy Apple series, I picked up on the character Hawk, the Dungeon Master in the Candy Apple. Chris Falconer is Hawk to the dungeon surveillance staff, but to others he’s a lonely man who often thinks about his past with regret. To the audience at Jack’s Clubhouse, where Chris cage fights and provides display fight bouts, he’s a thrilling sight.

Chris is:
·         six foot, two
·         has dark glossy hair
·         has deep blue eyes
·         is kind and gentle
·         writes a blog for fitness and fight fans
·         loves sex and giving his partner pleasure
·         is muscled and handsome
·         when he’s not fighting, favors black suits, or a leather jacket
·         is intelligent, multi-talented, calm and sophisticated
Justin is:
  • a fashion model
  • six foot two
  • has dark hair
  • has clear blue/gray eyes
  • is lonely and had a stressful upbringing
  • has never forgotten Chris
  • needs love
  • has lived in Denmark for many years
  • is hesitant and yet as soon as Chris begins to take care of him, he blossoms

Their story is sexy, romantic, sad, and happy. No one is more surprised than Chris when he is contacted by long lost love Justin and he will do anything to give Justin the love he needs.

Read an excerpt:
Justin walked a pace behind Chris. It was such a relief to be near Chris, Justin’s fatigue threatened to overwhelm him. Every muscle in his body felt heavy. His gaze traced the broad shoulders and muscled thighs of the man in front. Chris’s hair was well cut and his suit obviously expensive. Chris was even taller than he’d been when Justin last saw him in person, but then so was he. Justin smiled as a wave of tenderness crept over him followed by a sharp need to feel Chris’s lips on his. He still loved Chris. He’d expected to find it was all in his head, that the love was confined to memories, and real life would show him he was mistaken, that love couldn’t last this long.
They were in a corridor when Chris turned to him. “I’ve thought about you so much, I’m a bit ashamed of myself for clinging to your memory, when you never called, when you just disappeared.”
Justin’s heart fell. Was Chris about to reject him now they were away from the bar, the friendly barkeep, and bright white glow of the downlights there? “I’m sorry...”
“No. I meant ... I mean I still care for you. I couldn’t ever shake it. I never got over you and it’s been ... it’s been so long—you know I sometimes felt weak for not letting go.”
Justin gazed at Chris’s handsome face. “I thought about you.” He slid his hand along Chris’s jaw. “I want to kiss you, so much.”
Chris closed the small gap between their bodies as he grabbed Justin’s head and brought his mouth down on Justin’s. Justin’s breath left him in a soft murmur. His eyes closed in pleasure. He clung to Chris, desperation to stay with Chris, never to go home, gripping him. All he could think of was starting again with Chris, of the delicious drifting sensation that overcame him as Chris pressed close. He kissed Chris over and over until he couldn’t breathe, and Chris held his face away a little whispering words he’d longed to hear against his mouth and dotting tiny kisses there between the phrases.
“Justin, stay here, in the club. I can’t let you go, but I can’t leave work. I still love you. I want to know where you’ve been all these years. Where do you live? You must be a club member. I’ve not seen you here before. Can you stay until we close? It will be late, but then we can talk—we can be together.”
Justin closed his eyes and leaned his head on Chris’s shoulder. “Yes.”
Chris folded Justin in his arms.
Justin stayed within the comfort of the embrace until he knew he had to let Chris get back to work. He raised his head and stepped away.
“I should let you work. I’ll hang out at the bar.”
Chris gazed into his eyes. “Thank you.” He kissed Justin gently. “Hell, you’ll never know how good it feels to kiss you again.

BOOK INFORMATION

TITLE – Luxury Model Wife AUTHOR – Adele Downs GENRE – Contemporary Romance PUBLICATION DATE – September 20, 2016 LENGTH (Pages/# Words) – 74,000 PUBLISHER – Boroughs Publishing Group

luxury-model-wife400x600

Antiques expert Steve Carlson must face the mistakes of his past to discover a treasure he never imagined: the heart of a vulnerable yet determined widow.
TRUE RICHES Twenty-eight-year-old Victoria Van Orr just lost everything. With the death of her billionaire husband went his mature patience and warm encouragement; and the veneer of acceptance from everyone else. His friends and colleagues now ignore Victoria, and if his son succeeds she just might be forced back to the streets upon which she was raised. But money was never her goal. All she wants is love. Real love.
Antiques expert Steve Carlson knows the value of everything. Pain and betrayal? Those he gave away--and now they're coming back. His worst mistakes were all with one man: an old friend, the son of a father figure, now the stepchild of a beautiful young widow who wants Steve to help her auction off the family estate. To help Victoria, Steve must face his past and become a better man. To find true love, he will discover her surprisingly pure heart, vulnerable yet determined. And beyond price.

EXCERPT

Steve tilted his head, his bright blue eyes sizing her up. “Sorry, but I gotta’ ask. Do you always talk like that?”
Victoria felt her cheeks warm. “Whatever do you mean?”
“There.” He studied her again with not-so-subtle curiosity. “You sounded like your late husband James just now. Funny, you don’t seem like the snooty type to me. More like a regular girl.”
His comment touched a nerve like hot wires to stripped cable. Victoria bit back a retort while blood rushed through her ears. She closed her eyes against the sound to clear her head. Twenty-eight was hardly a girl, and she was damn tired of defending her right to be a Van Orr.
For five years she’d tried and failed to fit into the privileged world of her older husband—learning couture, keeping her posture as straight as a modeling school graduate, rounding her O’s when she spoke —apparently fooling no one on either side of the social spectrum in the process.
Defeat swept over her and her shoulders sagged beneath five-thousand dollars’ worth of silk and linen. No matter how hard she tried, she’d forever be exposed as the abandoned kid who’d grown-up in shelters.
Strange though… when she opened her eyes and returned them to Steve Carlson’s handsome face, she sensed his remark was meant as a compliment, and not a reminder that she lacked James’s pedigree. It was like he saw her.
Her. Not James’s luxury-model second wife.
Still, his manners were disgusting. Even store-owner-janitors should know how to behave. Snooty type. Who was he to say that to her? She was a potential client for heaven’s sake.
Victoria stood to leave. She was sick and tired of people voicing their opinions about her and her late husband’s disparate lineage. She’d been bullied and belittled since the day she’d become engaged. “You don’t know me well enough to analyze me, Mr. Carlson.” She kept the annoyance out of her reprimand. The rich had taught her that cool distain wounded more deeply than anger.
Steve grimaced, rubbed his jaw, and then stood to face her, his expression sheepish. He waved her back to her seat. “Please. I’m sorry I offended you. I’m a friend. Really. We’ve gotten off on the wrong foot.”
He ran a hand through his hair and his bicep bulged with the movement. Victoria’s gaze followed the lines and curves of sinew and muscle and took in the military tattoo peeking from the hem of his tee shirt.
She resisted the images that teased her dormant libido, and brought her eyes back to his face. Damn. That didn’t help. Why did this annoying man have to be so good-looking? Her attraction to him only made her feel guilty, like she’d betrayed James’s memory.
Widowhood came with a unique set of baggage.

Paul Holton is the leader of the Racinitine Pack. Rising to his position from bloodline and destiny hadn’t been easy for the strong willed young man. Having sacrificed many of the things his kind long for in their reticent existence, Paul knew all he forfeited had been for the greater good.
Kinzey Sloane had been finding ways to get herself into trouble ever since she was a rambunctious young child. Now a reporter for the small press, The Grand Lake Gazette, she was determined to make a name for herself no matter what it costs.
When Paul crosses paths with the tenacious and gorgeous red head, Kinzey he knows he’s in trouble. Not only can he see the fire in her, but he can feel it as well. But when Kinzey gets too close to his secrets, he is faced with making a choice that could not only change his world, but the only life his pack has ever known.

Excerpt from Night Falls (Racinitine Pack 1) by Nicole Morgan
Paul Holton stared down at his opponent below. Sweat dripped from his forehead onto Zeke’s, sliding down the side and falling into the crease of the scar he’d caused when he and Zeke were just boys.
"Surrender," Paul ordered.
“Not a chance, brother.”
With a swift and abrupt movement, Zeke elbowed his big brother in the ribs and grinned when Paul released his hold in agony.
Getting on top of him, Zeke pinned him down and said, “You may be older, but you’ll never be faster.”
Paul’s eyes glinted with the glow of Amber, the color that only showed when his other side was trying to shift through.
With a burst of adrenaline and strength that he knew his little brother wouldn’t be able to overcome, Paul pushed Zeke off of him and several feet away.
He then got up from the dirt covered barn and stood over Zeke. “Faster yes, but never stronger, my brother.”
Paul held his hand out to help Zeke up, but the gesture was refused. Just like the sore loser he’d always been, Zeke pushed his hand away and stood up in what could only be described as a childlike huff.
“You cheated.”
Laughing, he asked, “How exactly did I cheat? And when did this become a competition?”
“You used your powers. I saw your eyes. And it’s always a competition.”
“Only because you say so, brother. But not everything has to be. And don’t think I didn’t notice your hair prickle and begin to lengthen when you were on top of me. If you’re going to pull the powers card, you might want to take a look at your own tactics first.”
Zeke glared at his brother. “Whatever.”
Shaking his head, he could do nothing more than chuckle. His little brother might be fast and one of the best fighters's the Racinitine Pack had ever seen, but he still had the temperament of a fifteen-year-old boy who didn't get his way.
“Are you two at it again?”
Both men turned to see Nova, their sister, and the middle child of the trio standing in the moonlit silhouette of the barn doors.
“Just a friendly workout, sis.”
“Friendly, my ass.” Zeke snapped.
“I guess I know who lost.” Nova teased.
“Shut up, Nova. You always side with him.”
“Maybe that’s because you’re always acting like a petulant child.” She replied.
“Alright you two, knock it off.” Paul walked toward his sister and kissed her on the cheek. “Why do you antagonize him?”
She shrugged. “Because it’s fun and because I can.”
“Well knock it off. You know what a sore loser he can be.”
"I heard that," Zeke muttered while brushing the dust off of his pants.
Rolling her eyes, Nova turned her attention toward Paul. “Everyone has gathered for the meeting. They’re out in the clearing.”
“Thanks, sis. Let’s head out there now.” He turned toward his little brother. “All of us.”
With a sarcastic smile, Zeke added, "Yes, let's all show up like one big happy family."
“I’m serious Zeke. We need to show a unified front. Our pack is depending on us to be the example here. Until we know what is going on none of us can show any signs of doubt or hesitation. Understood?”
His siblings nodded in agreement. Despite their disagreements, they all knew how dire their current situation was.
A few minutes later Paul and his siblings made it down to the clearing where their pack’s meeting place had been established generations earlier. Buried deep in the forest of Rocky Mountain National Park, no one but animals had ever crossed this desolate part of their land.
He took his place atop a large stone where many leaders before him had stood and turned to address the members of their pack.
“Good evening, everyone. Thank you for coming on such short notice. I realize that it’s not easy to sneak away from our normal existence but times are ominous and we need to discuss what has been happening.”
“Is it true that it might be one of us?” A male voice from the crowd called out causing a stir amongst the others.
“Now let’s not jump to any conclusions. There’s no reason to start a panic over this.”
“Start a panic? People are dying!”
Paul looked down at Ingrid, one of the older of their female pack members. She'd been a caregiver for him and his brother and sister when they were younger. It pained him to see her look so confused and scared as she looked up at him.
“Ingrid, I realize that. And I know you’re scared. As I’m sure many of you are. But I want everyone to know that we don’t know anything as of yet. The very little information we have is just that. Very little, far too little for us to draw any conclusion from. And I certainly do not think it was one of us.”
“So what are you saying, it was a real wolf? A bear?” She asked him.
“We simply don’t know. But I do know our kind. And none of us would ever hurt a human. Much less two innocent hikers. We’ve spent generations reigning in our powers so that very thing doesn’t happen.”
“I read the news reports. Those attacks didn’t come from any bear. If it wasn’t one of us it had to be a wolf.” Royce, another member of the pack shouted out from far back in the crowd.
Paul let out a sigh and placed his hands on his hips. He knew his pack wanted answers. And oh how he wished he could give them to him. But the fact of the matter was he had no idea who had killed those hikers two nights before. And as much as he hated to admit it, he wasn’t entirely sure it wasn’t one of them. Wolves had been rather dormant in their area for quite some time. The odds that it was an animal and not one of their pack were slim.
His duty was to his pack. He had to keep a level head. At the very least until he knew what was going on. It was his only option.
The knowledge that there may be a killer amongst them was a fear he didn’t care to voice.

Monday #romance #PNR #darkfantasy romance from @HotInkBooks

Claudie loves living in the countryside and close to the forests. She’s a film maker and works for the wildlife trust. One night she steps onto her patio and sees a man sheltering there. She confronts him and he runs away.
Jasper has watched Claudie for a year. He fell in love with her, but he has a secret, one that might mean he can never approach her.
Will love and fate find a way?
What secret must Jasper hide?

18+ erotic paranormal romance.

‘Forever Blue,’ was inspired by the woodland near where I live. There’s a mysterious feel about the woods in autumn. It often feels as if something is watching. From the window of the room where I write, I can see across to nearby woods. I hear owls hoot at night. At dusk and dawn, there are strange mists that rise from the trees. It’s very lovely.

Today the main characters from ‘Forever Blue,’ Jasper, and Claudie are visiting the blog to give their take on the story and each other.

So what’s hot about Forever Blue?
Jasper:
The love scenes.
The way Claudie responds to me. Her courage. The love story. It’s unusual and steamy.
Claudie:
The love scenes are hot, but then so is Jasper, I mean just look at him. The story is sumptuous. It’s rich in description so that you feel as if you’re in the places described, although I’d rather you weren’t in the love scenes. (smiles)

Jasper tell us about Claudie:
She’s a professional, and clever. She makes films. I think she’s beautiful and smokin’ hot. She cares about the environment and the creatures in the forest. (Laughs then and takes Claudie’s hand)
What about Jasper, Claudie, tell us about him:
He’s tall. He has these gorgeous muscles, that’s from working in the forest I guess. He’s sexy, sensual, loving. His kisses are to die for.
Jasper leans across to her, “Only my kisses?”
They gaze at each other for a moment.
So in just one word can you describe the story?
Jasper: Sexy
Claudie: Delicious

Jasper sighed. It was lost in the wind that whipped around the fallen leaves on the lawn. He waited until he knew she was in the upstairs part of her house and then he went to the door and pressed his face against the glass. Inside was a big square cane armchair. It looked comfy. Alongside it, Claudie had placed a cane table with a glass top. He knew she sat there to read in the afternoon sun, when it shone. Recently the weather was always wet or cold and Claudie wore thick sweaters and tight jeans. Jasper watched her as she walked to the bottom of her garden and put seed on the bird table there. He liked the way her thighs looked in the jeans. He liked the way she walked, in graceful, sexy strides.

When she arrived home, he was in his usual place on the patio. It was an exceptionally dark night. The moon was covered with dense cloud. Rain fell in huge drops. He heard the Land Rover long before she pulled into her path and parked. Jasper heard her humming. She went through her front door. If she had been to a hide somewhere other than in the local area she was home early, he decided. He listened to the sound of her making a hot drink in her kitchen. He smiled. He couldn’t stop smiling. The sound of her voice flowed over him. It trickled into his mind and heart, lifting his spirits, and giving him hope.
Jasper stood silently by the holly tree and close to the biggest potted trees. One of them was shaped into a ball. He liked that. When the conservatory door opened and Claudie stepped out, he froze in the darkness and the shadow of the holly.

Hi Chris,

I wanted to contact you for years. I missed you so much. I’m sorry it’s been so long. I still picture your face. I still have the T-shirt you gave me when we got soaked in that storm. I still crave your kiss. If that’s pathetic, I don’t care. I wish we’d done more than kiss. I wish I had the memory of making love with you to sustain me. I saw you on the street one day recently. At first, I wasn’t sure it was you, but it was. I couldn’t help contacting you. I’m sorry. I hope I haven’t stirred up painful memories. We tried so hard not to love each other. Do you remember how great it was when we admitted it? I’ve never loved anyone the way I loved you. I still love you. I wish things had been different. Always yours, Justin.

EXCERPT

Rated R – “That’s not the answer I’d hoped for.”
Rated PG- “Maybe I get you.”
Brandr sliced the oars through water…back and forth, his body’s motion hypnotic and smooth. “Go ahead. Talk to me.” The Viking could be a mystical warrior dressed in black against waning fog, his graveled voice working a kind of silken magic. Sun shined through clouds, the pearled orb anointing his head. Perhaps Odin did send Brandr to save the day. Wraiths rose up from the channel as if to push them along. Did the Norse gods want them to succeed? She didn’t believe in Odin and his Valkyries, but the stories Vikings spun at night entranced her. “You could tell me what you’ll do with your reward,” she said. He snorted. “I said you could talk to me. Not the other way around.” “That’s not how it works. People take turns talking and listening to each other. It’s called conversation.” She angled her head coyly. “Vikings can do it. I’ve seen it happen.” Brandr squinted at tree tops rising above the mist. “Never been much for talk.” “Your mouth never stops when trading jibes with me.” His chuckle was raspy and low. “You have a way of loosening my tongue.” To her shame, his laugh cut a scorching path through her body and her legs fell open under her skirts. Her knees were heavy, and she left them open. “You’re a warrior long in service to Lord Hakan. Surely you’ll get a bigger reward than a handful of coins?”
His tarnished silver eyes pinned her. “Maybe I get you.”

AUTHOR BIO

Years ago I eloped at midnight after my favorite alpha male (Brian) won a game of pool. We got married the next morning in Vegas and life’s been an adventure ever since! We have two teenage boys who keep us hopping. Family vacations often take us to museums, castles, and forts, which my sons like better than roller coasters. Viking and Georgian romance is my happy place to read and write. My other happy places are times with friends, cooking, a little gardening, and a long ago love for exercise that I keep trying to revive.
