Adult Excerpt:

Cassie washed up and changed into a nightgown as Dax settled comfortably at the foot of her bed. She turned out the light and walked over to open a window, letting the fresh air in. She’d always loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. Two deep voices entered on the breeze along with the sounds of the surf, causing a shiver to run up her spine, and she realized that Deryc and Gage must still be on the patio enjoying the evening. Cassie sat on the window ledge and waited for her eyes to adjust to the darkness outside. When they did, the sight before her was nothing short of decadent. Both men were lounging on one of the large patio chairs. Deryc’s arm was around Gage’s shoulder, and his other hand cupped the other man’s cheek as he took his mouth in a slow and sensual kiss. Her breath caught in her throat as she watched Gage’s hand move leisurely up his partner’s thigh until he rubbed along the thick, hard ridge of Deryc’s arousal. I shouldn’t be watching this, like some kind of pervert… I’m invading their privacy, but holy hell, I think this is the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. Knowing it was wrong and willing her eyes to close were two very different things, and Cassie had to bite her lip as Deryc’s deep voice came to her on the night breeze. “I believe you owe me a proper show of gratitude, my mate.” Deryc growled as Gage’s fingers freed the thick cock from the confines of his partner’s pants. “Or did you forget you promised me that this morning?” “Hmm.” Gage lazily kissed along Deryc’s jaw, his hand now slowly stroking up and down his lover’s cock. “Did I say that? I can’t remember now…” Deryc’s response was immediate, and it made Cassie gasp as he pulled away and moved to cover the other man until Gage’s wrists were held above his head in each of his strong hands, and Deryc was now straddling his mate’s hips. In the moonlight, Cassie could see his cock jutting straight from his body, the thick length an even darker shade of grey than the rest of him. He towered over Gage like an avenging god. “Keep your arms above your head, boy.” Deryc’s tone was unforgiving now, and by the look of the large bulge in Gage’s own pants, he enjoyed this game of dominance as much as his mate did. Cassie had never experimented with any BDSM play with Peter, but that didn’t mean she hadn’t thought or fantasized about it before, and now that she had a front-row seat, her body flooded with heat at the idea of being on the submissive end of Deryc’s firm authority just like Gage was now. Deryc’s hands released Gage and began to undress, revealing his muscular body, the dark skin seeming to almost sparkle in the moonlight. Then he began the same process of removing Gage’s clothing, and the other man bit his lip, but left his arms where they were. “Cassie could still be awake.” Gage’s words turned into a groan as Deryc’s hand now closed around his shaft, rubbing a glistening bead of moisture over the plump head. “What if she sees?” “Mmm, think about that, my love.” Deryc’s hand moved faster on his lover’s flesh. “Just imagine those stunning blue eyes, her gaze roving over your hard and aching flesh like a caress. Perhaps she would like to join us even? I see now why you were so enamored with her when you first spotted her. She is quite remarkable.” Gage only moaned louder at Deryc’s words, his hips pushing harder into the other man’s grip, causing a warm chuckle to escape his mate’s lips. “I see how much you like that idea, love. I can feel your cock buck in my grip as if it were trying to get inside of her even now.” Holy fuck! Were they fantasizing about her? This time Cassie couldn’t stifle the groan as her pussy flooded at the idea of being out there on that couch with them, and it was so loud she startled herself, jumping back from the window in case her hosts heard it as well. She needed that shock back to reality. “Jesus, Cassie, what is wrong with you?” She didn’t want to think she was the kind of person who couldn’t control her own urges, but the fact that she hadn’t been able to help herself from watching Gage and Deryc’s intimate display meant they had much more power over her than she’d thought. Good grief, all she could hope for at this point is that they hadn’t heard her at all. Pervy, sex-starved human … table for one, please.

In a world he once knew, suddenly he’s a stranger. #newrelease #MCromance @BethDCarter @evernightpub

Hello! Thank you so much for having me on your site today to talk about my release, Warrior. This is book four in the Forgotten Rebels MC, and I’m not sure if it will be the last or not. I’ve got a few projects lined up for 2019, and one of those include a character from this book. That being said, this story was one of my favorites to write.  The heroine, Church, has a dark background, so I used humor to offset her anger and bitterness. And because I have a dry sense of humor (my fiancé calls me the Abbott to his Costello), I really enjoyed all the one-liners I was able to put in.  I really hope you enjoy reading Warrior as much as I enjoyed writing it!

What was the inspiration behind Warrior?
Church was a twin and her sister’s story was showcased in the third book, Take Aim and Reload, so obviously there was that inspiration. When I introduced her character in the first book, I was fascinated with the different dynamics between her and her sister. They’re twins and yet complete opposites. I wanted to do her story justice and I think I accomplished that.

What is the funniest line in the book?
Wow, just one? Okay, the funniest line has to be from one of the characters named Joe-Joe. He’s the humor that offsets the darkness in Church’s past.  One of his best lines is:
Everything is push button now.  The phone.  The lap top.  Even my damn penis pump is a push button.”

What’s coming next for you as an author?
There is a major character in Warrior who is screaming for his own story, so that’s my next WIP. After that I plan to write a paranormal ménage.

BLURB:
Although Church is a twin, she’s always felt isolated from her sister, Cherry.  Taking over the mechanic garage across the street from The Forgotten Rebels MC ensures that she’s never alone, even though her haunted past makes it difficult for her to trust another person.

Darrell McBryde lost his leg on active duty, changing not only his life but his mind on the clubs drug running business. Taking a stance against it, however, has put him at odds with the other members. In a world he once knew, suddenly he’s a stranger.

Both outcasts, Church and Darrell forge a tight friendship, one that eventually shifts into something deeper. But just as she’s about to reach out to take a chance, tragedy strikes, testing Church’s faith that love and happiness are hers for the taking.

Excerpt:

He couldn’t run or hide, all he knew was he’d spend his last breath defending the woman under him.  And if the enemy came at them, he’d be the first one to end her life in an last ditch effort to spare her the agony and humiliation that the fucking terrorists would inflict.
                “Darrell!” she screamed.
                He tightened his hold.
“Darrell! It’s okay! We’re safe.  We are both safe.  Please, come back to me, Darrell. Open your eyes.”
Slowly, her words penetrated through the blackened upheaval his mind had trapped him in, the fog hesitantly lifting.  He blinked and her face came into focus. The desert faded from the peripheral of his vision until her concerned blue eyes became the center point of his world.
“You’re safe, Darrell,” she murmured, cupping his cheek.  “We’re both safe.”
He took a deep breath and eased the death-grip he had on her arms.  It was only then that he realized he lay half on her, and that he squished her body into the corner of the driver’s seat.
“Jesus,” he muttered, immediately letting go.  He pushed back, horrified to see red marks on her arms where he’d held her.  “I…I…oh fuck. I’m so sorry.”
She shook her head. “Nothing to be sorry about. You were protecting me, weren’t you? From the insurgents.”
Jerkily, he nodded his head and ran a hand over his face.  He shook, not from fear, but from the nightmare that still lingered in his mind.
“A tire blew,” she continued. “That’s all.”
He looked out the window and saw they were on the shoulder of Highway Sixty.  “Tires don’t blow without a reason.”
“I know,” she said.  “I think I hit a large rock.”
Doubt lingered with him, but his emotions were too fucked up for him to think clearly.  “I would never hurt you, Church.”
“I know. You didn’t hurt me, Darrell. I get the difference. Believe me, I do know how to tell between the two.”
                “Fuck.”
He cradled his head with his hands and slumped over. He hadn’t had a nightmare or a reaction this strong in quite a while.  In fact, he thought he’d moved past the fear of loud noises. His shrink had certainly thought so. What the hell was he supposed to do now?
“It’s okay, Darrell,” she said softly, placing a hand on his shoulder. “I’ve got your back, too.”
He took the moment to not only get a grip on his erratic thoughts and heartbeat, but to savor Church’s brand of comfort. Her touching him was a big deal, and he knew that.  He may not know the reason why she shunned the touch of another, but at the moment, he didn’t care. The place where her hand rested caused a bolt of lightning to shoot straight to his groin, proving that his dick definitely wasn’t broken. He knew he’d always had a reaction to her nearness, but he had never anticipated such a visceral response. He shifted, uncomfortable with the thought that he couldn’t keep his cock under control, and unfortunately his shifting caused her hand to lower away from his shoulder.

ABOUT BETH:

I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate high-rollers.  I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box.  I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.

The Billionairs Shifters Club now exclusively available in Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program #PNR @dianaseerebooks

The Billionaire Shifter’s Series
Exclusively on Amazon / Kindle Unlimited

The Billionaire Shifter’s Club is a 6-book series by Diana Seere, the paranormal pen name for two New York Times and USA Today bestselling romantic comedy authors. All six books (standalones *within* a series) are now exclusively available in Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program.

The Billionaire Shifter Series Blurb:

Welcome to the most exclusive club in the world. The Novo Club. Novo is Latin for “change.” Our members prefer the word “shift” though.

It’s the hottest club in town.

The price of membership is your heart and your secrecy.

All you need to do to join is to be loved beyond your wildest imagination by someone powerful with an…alpha side so primal it’s in their blood.

Are you ready?

Good. Then let’s begin.

The Billionaire Shifters Club is a series featuring the five Stanton siblings, four brothers and one sister who are all part of an ancient shifter family living in modern America. The subterranean club-within-a-club beneath the streets of Boston, Massachusetts holds secrets only the Stantons and their fellow shifters know.

Book 1 – The Billionaire Shifter’s Curvy Match (9/13/16)

When Lilah Murphy started serving drinks at the exclusive Platinum Club, she never expected she would be on the menu.

Biotech billionaire Gavin Stanton had one taste of the new, curvy server and his craving could never be satisfied until he had her fully. Completely.

Eternally.

Fate brought them together, but a centuries-old secret could tear them apart, for the Stanton family holds a shifter legacy that no human has ever threatened.

Until now.

Gavin Stanton is the billionaire CEO of a Boston biotech firm. He’s also a werewolf, the son of a large, ancient family with roots in the British aristocracy. His work is his life. But then he feels the Beat—an irresistible urge to mate with Lilah, a beautiful human who inflames his passions like no other—and he abandons everything he thought he knew in his need to claim her.

Lilah Murphy is broke and desperate. All she wants is a job to support herself, her sister, and her ailing mother. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a rich, powerful guy who would discard her after a few hot nights together and get her fired at her new, high-paying job. But she, too, feels the Beat. She hears him in her mind, feels him in her soul, and the urge to answer the ancient call is undeniable. Is she strong enough to embrace his secrets—and her own?

The Billionaire Shifter’s Curvy Match is the first in an all-new series of hot (did we mention *hot*?) romances about the billionaire shifters and the women they’re fated to love.

Book 2 – The Billionaire Shifter’s Virgin Mate (10/11/16)

McDermott "Derry" Stanton is an old-money playboy who sleeps his way through half the world, one willing woman at a time.

A bear shifter, he never hibernates alone. Sometimes even one woman isn't enough.

But when this irresistible billionaire meets Jessica Murphy, everything changes. The man who views life as a female feast suddenly acquires more discerning tastes. The only woman who can satisfy him now...

Is Jessica Murphy. He must have her. Immediately. Frequently.

Jess, however, doesn't want any man, least of all a spoiled playboy who's about to become her brother-in-law. A pre-med student with deep ambitions and a past filled with painful rejection, she's all business.

Too bad Derry Stanton is her business. A frequent customer at the Platinum Club where she waits tables, and now the best man to her maid of honor in her sister's wedding, the guy is everywhere.

And pretty soon, she finds herself everywhere, too.

In his arms, on his bed, between the sheets....

But sex is the last thing she needs.

Or it was until she meets Derry and starts hearing the Beat. And feeling a connection she'd never imagined, never dreamed, never hoped for.

It's all too unbearably good.

Book 3 – The Billionaire Shifter’s Second Chance (12/2/16)

A wildland firefighter--and mountain lion shifter--Edward is the youngest of the Stanton siblings, and hasn't touched a woman in a decade, not since his late fiancee was killed in a violent tragedy.

But when he meets the sweet, adorable Molly Sloan, a friend of his new sister-in-law, Lilah... his determination to remain celibate begins to unravel.

Something about Molly is irresistible. Something about her makes him forget the past... and hear the Beat. But Edward will have to fight for her -- forces are gathering to use her in ways that might separate them forever.

Book 4 – The Billionaire Shifter’s Secret Baby (4/4/17)

A masquerade ball in Malibu led to a single night of passion under the stars… and set the wheels of fate in motion.

Three years ago, waitress Kara Jablonski gave in to her wilder side with a fellow weretiger, the rock star billionaire Lars Jensen, a sun-kissed blond drummer with a viking's build. Six weeks later, the pregnancy test came back positive.

Knowing Lars' powerful, overbearing mother would be able to take the baby away, Kara did what she had to do.

She hid him.

Now chance has brought Lars back into her life, his touch making her pulse beat like the old legends. So strong, so loud, so bold.

So right.

But can she trust him to want more than another night under the stars? Can she trust him to claim his son as his heir... and Kara as his mate?

Fate responds with a roar...

Book 5 – The Billionaire Shifter’s True Alpha (10/24/17)

Zach Hayden was an ordinary guy until an accident in Gavin Stanton’s research lab left him howling at the moon. Turned into a werewolf by the same serum he helped to create, biochemist Zach is now seven inches taller, has seventy pounds of new muscle, and, well -- everything got bigger.

Sophia Stanton is a confident billionaire bear shifter who enjoys the finer things in life -- especially fine men. Unlike her older brother Gavin, she has no plans to settle down with just one mate. Why limit yourself to a single taste when you can have a little lick of everything?

Unconvinced that Zach has adjusted to his transformation, Sophia’s brothers confine Zach to their family compound in Montana, where Sophia offers to teach him how to manage his new powers—and libido.

But when Zach and Sophia both hear the Beat, an old shifter legend that guarantees they are made for each other, is falling in love their fate—or is it just wishful thinking?

When her powerful family questions his motives and powers, can Zach rise to the occasion—

And become Sophia’s true alpha?

Book 6 – The Billionaire Shifter’s Final Redemption (9/13/18)

Asher Stanton has devoted his entire, long life to protecting the shifter world — but he couldn’t save his own beloved human wife and child. Walling off his emotions and turning his life into mission to consolidate power, he is ruthless, determined — and most definitely never falling in love with another human again.

Years later, a dark threat looms over the shifter world as Asher’s childhood friend, Tomas Nagy, becomes into his worst enemy. With the future of the shifter world in question, he must turn to a human scientist, the fiery, headstrong Dr. Samantha Baird, to help him fight the forces of evil.

Too bad he can’t fight his attraction to her, an all-consuming urge that strips him of his well-honed restraint. A man accustomed to being in control at all times, Asher finds himself unable to resist.

Her.

Fate has a funny way of showing up when least expected, and when an old prophesy predicts Asher and Samantha’s union, the family patriarch must accept the fact that he, and he alone, cannot protect her.

Samantha may be the shifter world’s greatest gift.

And Asher Stanton’s final redemption.

The Billionaire Shifter’s True Alpha

The world was a heartbeat.
And Zach was its heart.
As he watched the elevators close, he felt like four chambers of red, pounding flesh, beating in sync to pump himself into the world, taking it over, king of it all. Sophia’s fear bubbled off her like hot water on a griddle, bouncing and tingling until it evaporated into nothing but the memory of the ripple. She was pure beauty in pulsing form, every single cell of her deliciously large frame filled with nothing but attention to him.
Just as nature intended.
Power coursed through him like a drug, making his head light with an irrepressible urge to smile, to laugh, to take in the wonder of his connection to, well, everything.
Everything but her.
Time to fix that. Now.
Drawn to Sophia, he reached for her shoulders, finding resistance that only spurred him on, his body moving as if choreographed, her hot, sweet mouth against his before he knew it. She was tall, impossibly so, but even more outrageous was the fact that he was taller. Last year she’d towered over him.
Last year he’d ached to say yes to her offer of a one-night stand, but principle had left him lonely that night. Her reputation preceded her: Sophia Stanton, the wildly sex-positive billionaire heiress who bedded men the way most women shopped for shoes.
Now, though, their mouths fit perfectly together, tongues tangled as his hands, big and strong, plunged into her long hair, grasping close to her scalp with an intensity that made her gasp—and made him grin. Power was intoxicating, a thrill ride that made the kiss like a roller coaster, highs and lows a dizzying race, stomach fluttering, body braced for impact.
He knew exactly where he wanted to impact her, too.

I hadn’t seen Mason in so damn long, and I wasn’t certain my presence would be welcome even now. I’d had a crush on him for as long as I could remember, even when I’d just been a little girl. My daddy had always taken me to work with him, and I’d gotten to know all the guys at his shop over the years, but it had always been Mason who fascinated me. As I grew, my feelings for him changed from that of a little girl to a young woman. It was my fault he’d left, even though I’d never told anyone, and never would. If my dad had ever found out what I’d done…
I took a steadying breath as I stared at the gates of the Dixie Reapers’ compound. No one knew I was here, and I wanted to keep it that way. I was in some serious shit right now, and it wasn’t fair to drop it on Mason’s doorstep, but I didn’t know where else to go. There was no one in my life I trusted right now, not even my own family. No, especially not my own family. Some slut with three kids had convinced my dad to marry her a few years ago, and I’d been pushed to the side. I’d quickly understood how Cinderella must have felt, being given all the crap jobs around the house and shop, and getting nothing in return. At least, as long as I was under the step-monster’s roof I wasn’t getting anything. Moving out helped a bit.
Things were different now, though, and not in a good way. Before Dad had died, I’d moved out. He’d been helping me pay rent, though, so I could be a nicer area. After his death, that helped came to a screeching halt, and I’d been forced to move into a not-so-great place. I’d found out at the reading of Dad’s will that he had apparently left his shop in my care if anything ever happened to him, along with half his life insurance policy. My step-monster only received fifty thousand dollars and the house, which I’d been told had a second mortgage on it. Needless to say, the woman wasn’t happy and would stop at nothing to get her hands on my inheritance. It had taken a while for everything to get sorted out and my inheritance actually handed over to me.
I wasn’t certain if I wanted to thank my dad for trying to take care of me at the very end, or scream at him for putting me in this position. Legally, there wasn’t a damn thing that Tia could do about the shop and money. But then, she’d never been one to follow the rules. I’d noticed some questionable-looking men following me lately, and I wondered if maybe she’d hired someone to do something to me. Especially after a few unexplained accidents happened. According to my dad’s lawyer, if anything happened to me, the money and shop would go to Tia. It had been a provision in my dad’s will apparently, stating that unless I was married with children, then step-mommy-dearest would inherit if I were to die. And since I wasn’t married and didn’t have any kids to leave the money to… yeah, I was pretty much screwed. I didn’t see how that could possibly be legal in this day and age, but what the hell did I know?
The gates mocked me as I stared at them. I could see the shadow of a man standing just on the other side, likely a guard of some sort. He hadn’t called out to me, but then I hadn’t exactly gotten any closer either. I took another breath to steady my nerves and approached, putting one foot in front of the other. My fingers wrapped around the iron bars and I stared at the man on the other side. He eyed me up and down, giving me time to look him over too. He seemed to be a few years older than me. “You here to party with the club?” he asked.
“I’m here to see… Zipper.” I hated that fucking name. To me, he was Mason, would always be Mason. Or maybe it was why he had that name that I hated so much. He’d been part of the Dixie Reapers even when he’d worked for my dad. Then he’d left and opened his own shop. The only times I’d seen him since then were glimpses around town, but I’d always hidden and kept my distance, knowing he probably hated me.
“He expecting you?” the guy asked.
“No. He used to work for my dad. Please, it’s important that I see him. I’m not here to cause trouble.”
The guy snorted and made a shooing motion. “Sorry, doll, but if you aren’t expected, you’re not getting in. You’re either an old lady, or you’re here to suck cock. And since it appears neither applies to you, you can just turn around and walk away.”
“But you don’t understand…”
He pointed again toward the driveway. There was only one way I was getting inside, but I didn’t know if I had the courage to follow through. I rubbed my hands up and down my denim-clad thighs and blew out a breath.
“Then maybe I’m here to party,” I said, wishing immediately that I could call back the words.
The man’s eyebrows rose, and he opened the gate. I cautiously walked past him, a little worried he might reach out and grab me, maybe force me to suck his cock. I hadn’t ever done something like that before, and the thought of sucking off a complete stranger made my stomach bubble and flip. I hurried toward the clubhouse and raced up the wooden steps. When I reached the door, I slowly pushed it open. Music and smoke battered at my senses as I stepped inside.
My eyes went wide when I saw the mostly, and in some cases completely, naked women prancing around. A few couples were openly having sex in front of everyone, and my heart started racing in fear. What the hell had I gotten myself into? And did I really want to see Mason in this setting? I knew he wasn’t an angel by any means, but I didn’t like the thought of him being with all these women.
I caught sight of him toward the end of the bar, his Dixie Reapers leather cut looking every bit as sexy on him as I’d thought it did six years ago. I felt a tingle working its way through my body, and my nipples hardened as I got closer to him. A few people jostled me along the way, but I forged ahead, hoping like hell I hadn’t made a huge mistake...

Was that desire on his face? Desire? Impossible! New release #romance Read a #teaser from

In a Flash - Cover Model Series book one

Blurb:
Photographer's assitant, Audri secretly crushes on cover model Carson. When an impromptu photo shoot put her in his arms, she'll learn she's not the only one harboring desires. But with pain from the past and obstacles put in their way, can they breakdown their barriers to trust... to love?

Excerpt:
She raked her gaze over his torso where his white dress shirt protested across his impressive chest and wide shoulders, pushing the limits of how far the material could be stretched. Her fingers itched to smooth out the creases, or better yet, undo every last button and free him from the garment. Oh, to have her hands on his glorious skin. She had to clench her fists at her sides as she took a fortifying breath to center herself.
Audri’s gaze ventured back to his eyes as she slowly sauntered toward him, over-emphasizing the sway in her hips. She never broke eye contact and was pleased to see a flash of shock register on his face. What she witnessed next nearly had her tripping in her heals.
Was that desire on his face? Desire? Impossible!
Audri’s pulse raced as she watched his eyes question, almost begging, pleading for her to come to him. He sat up straighter as he uncrossed his legs, planting his feet on the ground while his hands gripped the edge of the desk. Her careful steps led her closer and closer as she tried to push aside the uncertainty of her actions. She wanted him to see she wasn’t intimidated by him—no matter how much she really was intimidated by him.
All else around her faded away as Audri focused on Carson, feeling like David facing off with Goliath. Even with him in his seated position, his imposing form still seemed to tower over her. She tried not to let that bother her in the least as she stepped right up between his legs, bringing her body within inches of his. Still keeping his gaze, she was rewarded with another hint of surprise before his stare smoldered. Audri swore she could feel the heat radiating off his body, and suddenly she didn’t miss her sweater so much.
She boldly reached out to place her hands behind Carson’s head, her nails lightly scraping his neck, wishing she could release the strands of his lush hair from its confines. She could’ve sworn she felt a shudder roll through him as he closed his eyes and released a shaky breath. When he opened his eyes and smiled, sweet and warm, the heat she now felt threatened to melt her into a puddle of goo.
Ever so slowly, as if not to spook her, Carson brought an arm around her waist while his other hand slowly trailed across her outer arm and down her side. His fingers danced tenderly across her exposed flesh, his touch eliciting tiny shivers as it simultaneously fired her up. The arm snuggling her waist felt like a branding iron, leaving its mark of unrelenting fiery heat. Her entire body began to burn as he pulled her impossibly closer, his powerful thighs encasing her hips and the smooth silk of his shirt grazing her exposed cleavage.
As their breaths increased, mingled, Audri was certain she could hear the frantic beat of their hearts pounding in sync. She splayed her fingers around Carson’s neck, kneading his flesh, feeling the tense muscles slowly relaxing beneath her touch. Focusing on the steady caress of his hands on her back, she couldn’t look away from the softness in his eyes.
She licked her lips, suddenly parched, wishing she could steal the moisture from his mouth with a kiss. And when his gaze shifted to her lips then back to her eyes, maybe he thought the same as he mimicked her move, swiping his tongue across his plump lower lip.
Audri disguised her groan with a remark she knew sounded much too needy.
“Are you ready for this?”

For those of you who love BDSM ménage with a curvy heroine, Stately Pleasures ticks all the boxes! This popular novel has been relaunched with a brand-new cover and updated content.

Blurb:
There are worse things a girl can do to get a boost up the career ladder.
Alice Brown has just landed her dream job as property manager at Davenport Manor, a British stately home. It’s only a nine-month contract to cover maternity leave, but it will provide her with the vital experience she needs to progress in her chosen career.
However, her dream job soon threatens to become a nightmare when she discovers her boss, Jeremy Davenport, in a compromising position. Her shock is exacerbated when Jeremy, far from being embarrassed or apologetic about what happened, manipulates the situation until somehow, she’s the one in the wrong. He and his best friend, Ethan Hayes, the head of security at Davenport Manor, give her an ultimatum. Faced with the possibility of losing her job and endangering her future prospects, Alice reluctantly agrees to their indecent proposal.
When the dust settles, Alice comes to the conclusion that playing their kinky games isn’t such a bad thing, after all. But what happens when she thinks she’s falling for both men?

Excerpt:

Alice took a deep breath, in through her nose, and out through her mouth. Repeated the process once more. Then, realising she could sit there all day doing it and not feel any calmer, she forced herself to step out of the car and close and lock the door.
She bent to peer into the wing mirror of the vehicle and checked her hair and make-up. Satisfied, she straightened, then turned on her heel and walked quickly across the driveway to the great house before her nerve failed her.
Davenport Manor was currently open for visitors, so she walked in through the front door and was met by a smiling elderly lady.
“Can I help you?” the woman asked kindly.
“Yes, please.” Alice twisted her hands together nervously. “I’m here to see Mr Davenport. I’m here for an interview for the property manager’s role.”
“Yes, of course,” the woman replied, “that’s today, isn’t it? Follow me; I’ll take you to Mr Davenport’s office. But just hang on one second.”
She ducked through the doorway into the next room and spoke with her colleague. Alice guessed she was letting her co-worker know she’d be gone for a few minutes. A few seconds later, she was back. “Okay, follow me, Miss…”
“Brown,” Alice said, then fell in behind the other woman as she led her to Mr Davenport’s office, and the interview that could change her life forever. It was hardly surprising that she was shaking like a leaf.
Alice quickly became disorientated as their journey took several twists and turns along dim corridors—their blinds drawn to protect paintings, tapestries, and furniture from the sunlight—and up a flight of stairs. She had a few seconds to worry about finding her way if she was lucky enough to get the job, then her guide stopped outside a door and turned around.
“Here you go, Miss Brown. Mr Davenport’s office. Good luck with your interview.”
Alice smiled and thanked the elderly woman, then smoothed down her skirt, which also conveniently wiped the nervous sweat off her hands. She stood up straight, gave herself a mental pep talk about being more than qualified for the role, and knocked on the door.
“Enter.”
Alice knew that voice could only belong to Jeremy Davenport. The posh accent, and the fact he’d said “enter” instead of “come in”, screamed money and an upper-class upbringing. Alice was suddenly desperately aware of her broad Midlands accent and lowly background, despite the fact she’d worked her backside off to get into a decent university in order to gain a Bachelor of Arts degree and then a Master’s degree. No matter what she sounded like, or what her past was, she had all the skills necessary to do the job she was about to be interviewed for.
She realised she’d left rather a long pause before opening the door, and turned the handle before the occupants of the room thought they were about to interview some kind of simpleton who couldn’t follow a simple instruction.
Fixing a polite—but hopefully not inane—smile onto her face, Alice stepped into Jeremy Davenport’s office. Her first thought—which certainly did nothing to help her nerves—was good God, he’s hot.
