Sugar flows through Calla Taylor’s veins, so owning her own candy shop is her dream come true. She has independence and the chance to surround herself with her passion… candy. But life in Avenel, a small island town, has its challenges. The summer’s hurricane season hit her hard, and now that winter has begun, she’s not sure Calla’s Candy can hold out until the warmer temperatures lure tourists back to the beaches.

Ash Singh has it all: good looks, a charming personality, and a pile of money that just continues to grow. He also has a broken heart. Because of the hellish way his last relationship ended, he wasn’t sure he could ever love again. But meeting Calla changed everything. It started small. When she smiled, the jagged edges of his heart found their match and sealed together. Her laugh revived a pulse that sent need and desire through his soul. But when he held her in his arms as they danced, he felt something he hadn’t felt in a long time. Hope.

But one thoughtless act cuts Calla to the core and threatens the hope that took root in Ash’s soul. He sets out to not only save his relationship with Calla, but he vows to save Calla’s Candy too.

Ash’s stomach grumbled again as he made his way towards the café on the other side of the lobby. He’d debated getting room service, but he wanted to stretch his legs. He’d worked in his suite all day, going over the numbers for potential companies that Singhular Venture Capital could fund.

As he stepped up to the vacant hostess stand, he spotted the hostess coming his way. She was a young woman in her twenties. She graced him with a smile as she hustled towards him.

“Good evening, Mr. Singh,” Cherie Berry said as she stepped behind the hostess stand. She usually worked in the 5-star hotel’s Hope’s Garden Restaurant on the other side of the lobby, but a friend called in sick. She volunteered to cover for her because she never turned down the chance to earn money.

“Good evening, Ms. Cherie,” Ash replied after reading her name tag. Some people would be surprised to have strangers automatically know their name, but not him. He learned that when someone pays over a thousand dollars a night at a resort, the resort makes sure the staff recognizes that guest’s face to ensure the very highest caliber treatment.

Cherie’s heart raced a little when he said her name. Ashwin Singh was handsome and well mannered. And single. She wouldn’t mind finding a man from among the crème de la crème of society. What would it be like to be a guest of the posh hotel instead of a worker?

“Are you dining alone or waiting for someone?” Cherie asked. She set her hand on the stack of menus and waited to hear how many to grab.

“Ah, just myself.” He glanced around the café. Most of the tables were occupied.

“Please, follow me,” Cherie said, picking up a menu.

Ash followed Cherie, but then he spotted Calla. The raven-haired beauty with alabaster skin was laughing with a man on the other side of the room. He was surprised at the range of emotions that flooded him.

His first thought was how lucky he was to spot her. He’d been thinking about her all week, hoping that their paths would cross again so he could continue to heal the fissure between them. Then jealousy twisted his heart. She wasn’t with a friend. She was with a man. And she was laughing with him, slathering him with giggles and smiles. Women liked men who made them feel good, and it was apparent that this man was making Calla feel good.

Ash cleared his throat and asked softly, “Excuse me, Ms. Cherie, is it possible to sit there?” He pointed to a small table for two along the window that looked out at the ocean. It would also give him a good view of Calla.

“Of course,” Cherie gave him a smile. She shifted directions and led him to the table that he’d pointed out.

Ash pulled out the chair and sat so Calla was in his direct line of sight. Cherie handed him a menu and then walked away.

Ash wasn’t sure if this was a good idea or not. He would happily watch her all night, revel in her smile, but was he torturing himself? Her smiles weren’t for him. They were for the man sitting across from her.

Who was that man? He hadn’t accompanied her to the wedding. Calla didn’t seem like the kind of girl to cheat on a boyfriend. At least he hoped not. Could he be a gay friend? A man who had a host of female friends but was romantic with none of them.

When the waitress arrived, he glanced at the menu and ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich After handing her the menu, she hustled off.

Ash intertwined his fingers and set his hands on the table in front of him. He couldn’t take his eyes off of Calla, but he also didn’t want to look like a creepy stalker. He forced himself to grab his cell and cradle it on the table in front of him. He scanned through the business news while darting glances in her direction.

When the waitress set his sandwich in front of him, he noticed that Calla was eating the same sandwich. He smiled at that. This was another thing they had in common.

While he finished his sandwich, the waitress set a large slice of chocolate cake in the middle of Calla’s table. Ash cringed as she slid her fork into the cake and fed the man the first bite. Bile churned in Ash’s stomach as the man’s lips covered the morsel and she pulled the fork from his mouth.

Ash immediately lost his appetite. He wanted to be the man she was flirting with, the man she was romantically feeding, the man she would go home with. He wasn’t sure how much more of watching her on a date with another man he could handle. He just knew that he couldn’t take much more.

Being a man of action, Ash stood. The alpha within him demanded that he speak with her. See if there was any spark in her eye when they spoke. He prayed that her gaze, a sparkle in her eyes would offer him hope? The gentleman within him argued that he needed to respect her space. She was not his, therefore he didn’t have the right interrupt her date.

He knew that the polite thing to do would be to leave her alone, but the alpha in him won the internal struggle within him.

He strode towards her, weaving between the tables of diners, with his eyes glued to her. In some weird way, he prayed that if he could speak with her, that she’d realize that she wanted him.

Halfway to her table, his heart dropped out of his chest as she leaned across the table and let the man feed her a bite of chocolate cake. With her eyes closed in sublime pleasure and the moan of appreciation she purred as the man withdrew the fork, Ash nearly turned around. But he stayed the course.

He didn’t run from a challenge.

Maybe it was his imagination, but as he neared, he could feel the sexual energy between the couple as they shared that cake. Between their body language, the smiles, and eye-contact, they were oblivious to anyone else around them. They were completely absorbed in each other.

This was not a good sign.

Ash came to a stop beside their table and cleared his throat casually to politely interrupt their moment. Then he said, “Hi, Calla. It’s good to see you.” He glanced at the man who sat across from her, gave a polite nod and said, “Hello.”

Calla startled when Ash’s deep voice resonated over her skin. She was thankful that she wore long sleeves so he wouldn’t see the goose bumps his velvet voice caused to dance over her skin. As much as she was enjoying Trent, the sight of Ash standing beside her jolted her. The man was one of the handsomest men she’d ever seen, including Hollywood heartthrobs. It shouldn’t surprise her that his presence affected her. But then the memory of his disrespectful words tickled her ears and she regained her composure.

“Hi,” she said. She leaned back in her seat. Her eyes widened as she glanced between the two handsome men. The moment suddenly felt awkward. The air was heavy between them.

She motioned towards Ash and said, “Trent, this is Ash. Ash, this is Trent. Trent and I went to school together.”

The men gave each other a firm head nod and grunted their hellos as they sized up their competition. Ash noted that she didn’t introduce the man with a romantic title. Not even a ‘good friend’. That made him smile.

“What are you doing here?” she asked Ash. Her brow crinkled in curiosity. “I thought you were back in Raleigh.”

“I was, but I look at houses tomorrow with the realtor.”

“Hm,” she responded. His presence was affecting her in ways she hadn’t expected. Her heart rate ticked up, a flushed heat covered her, and she felt her heart warming to Ash.

She needed Ash to leave for Trent’s sake. She stabbed the tines of her fork into the cake and pulled off another bite. “Good luck with that. I hope you find something that you like.” She slid the fork into her mouth and savored the bite.

She really didn’t want to talk to Ash. And despite her conflicted feelings, she didn’t want him to ruin her date with Trent. As she chewed, she hoped Ash would take the hint and let them enjoy their cake in peace.

Ash nodded politely at them and said, “I didn’t mean to interrupt your dinner.” He purposely didn’t use the word ‘date’. “I just wanted to say hi.” His gaze went to Trent. “It was nice meeting you. I’m sure I’ll see you around once I move here.”

Calla gave him an awkward wave and then mumbled, “Bye,” with her hand covering her mouth full of cake.

Trent nodded once and said, “See you around.”

Ash wasn’t sure how to read their short interaction. She and Trent were friendly to him, but when Calla started eating her cake, he knew it was time for him to hit the road. And Trent definitely wanted to be a lot more than friends with Calla.

Ash stopped at the hostess station. Cherie instantly set down her pencil and gave him her full attention.

“I hope your meal was delicious,” Cherie said. “Is there anything else I can do for you, Mr. Singh?”

Ash began, “My meal was fabulous, thank you. I would like you to add that couple’s bill to my room.” He pointed out Calla and Trent. “No need to tell them who paid. You can just tell them that a friend took care of it.”

“Of course, sir,” Cherie replied. “Have a good evening.”

Ash’s Monte Cristo sandwich was heavy in his stomach as he cut through the lobby towards the elevators. He hoped buying their dinner would be counted as a plus in her book. From her indifference towards him, even if she understood why he behaved the way he did at the reception, she wasn’t interested in him. He wasn’t sure that he could blame her.

Sometimes love is worth the wait.

Sara Carlisle and Charlie Rhodes are complete opposites. Oil and water. Chalk and cheese.

Before Sara even meets Charlie, she hates him. He's insulted her best friend -a woman Sara considers family- and that is unforgivable. In person he proves to be just as obnoxious and insufferable as she'd anticipated. And, as far as she's concerned, the fact that he's tall and muscular with an accent to die for is not enough to redeem him. Charlie Rhodes is an arrogant A--hole (with a capital A!) and that's all there is to it!

For his part, Charlie thinks Sara is a conceited pain in the arse. A prissy princess to the nth degree. It becomes his prerogative to get under her skin for the sheer pleasure of riling her up. He feels genuine enjoyment in the face of her frustration, and he makes no secret of it. Besides, she gives as good as she gets!

Fundamentally opposed in every way, it's obvious to those around them that they're not going to get along.

But unfortunately, thanks to their respective families, they are stuck in each other's lives for the foreseeable future. Being civil is as good as it is going to get...or is it?

When their relationship turns from reluctant acquaintances to red hot lovers, they find it's good.

Really good.

What could possibly go wrong?

In a slow-burn romance that follows hot on the heels of Handle With Care*, Sara and Charlie discover that you really can't rush romance.

*Both Handle With Care and You Can't Hurry Love can be read as standalone novels in the expanding Jukebox Collection series.

“I had my reasons for avoiding serious relationships,” it seemed Everett wasn’t going to be discouraged, “but what’s stopping you?”

Charlie cast his gaze to the ceiling. “For fuck’s sake.”

“I watched at least five women attempt to get your attention at the airport the other day, so it’s not your looks.”

He knew Everett had always been a little jealous of his taller, broader physique and his naturally golden coloured hair, so he snorted. “Thanks, Rhett.”

“I’m serious, Charlie. You’re forty-two-”

“Please don’t remind me.”

“–and I can’t remember the last time you were seeing someone.”

It was Charlie’s turn to throw his brother a flat look. “One: we’ve not really had the sort of relationship where we talked about this stuff until recently,” he began, counting on his fingers for emphasis, “and two…well, alright, look, I’ve had a bit of a dry spell, but, like you, casual was always my thing. Is my thing.”

“Uh huh.” He hated that Everett didn’t sound convinced.

Scowling, Charlie demanded, “Did Mum put you up to this?”

He knew he was onto something when Everett shifted his gaze.

“I knew it!” Downing the last of his beer, Charlie stood up to deposit the bottle into the recycling bin in the kitchen.

“Shh!” Everett was frowning at him now. “Do you want to wake the baby?”

“If it’ll get you and Mum off my back about fucking settling down?” Charlie asked rhetorically as he ambled back to the couch and dropped down heavily. “Yes.”

“You wake her, you get to look after her.” The other man shot back, before asking, “Is it so wrong that we want you to be happy?”

Charlie blinked back at him, dumbstruck. “Who are you?”

“Oh, shove off.”

“No, I’m serious – you should know better than anyone that I don’t need to be in a relationship or have kids to be happy.”

“I never said you had to have kids.” Everett was standing firm. “You’re getting a bit old for it anyway.”

Despite himself, Charlie cracked a grin at the unexpected ribbing. “Piss off.”

His brother's expression softened. "Look, I get it. Being alone's easier, right? Nobody to hurt you or get hurt by, nobody to nag you or whatever. But," he raised his hand as Charlie moved to interrupt, "and hear me out, alright?" Charlie shut his mouth and nodded defeatedly. "It's going to sound ridiculous, but you just need the right person."

Given that he'd already heard all about how effortless and easy Everett thought being with Gemma was, Charlie decided he didn't need to hear him wax poetic any longer. "That's probably true," he acknowledged, "but I am happy as I am right now, Rhett. So lay off, alright?"

His brother pursed his lips and looked as though he wanted to beleaguer the point, but after another moment conceded, “Alright.”

"Thank you."

"But–"

"Oh, Christ..."

"Just know that you can change your mind about it at any time, yeah?" Everett nudged his shoulder. "It won't make you any less of a man, you stubborn git."

Before Charlie could respond, a familiar, obnoxious voice cut in with a laugh. "That's assuming he's man enough to begin with." Sara sauntered into the room, dropping a handful of shopping bags onto the floor beside the kitchen bench. She hopped up to sit on the granite surface, crossing her long legs at the ankle and chirping, "What are we talking about, anyway?"

From between gritted teeth, Charlie responded, "Nothing that concerns you, princess." His spirits rose at the expression of distaste which flitted across her face. For some reason she despised the moniker, and so he used it frequently.

"Alright children," Everett interrupted, narrowing his gaze at Charlie, "behave." He stood up and crossed the room to greet Gemma with a kiss. "Did you lovely ladies enjoy your day?"

It was Jeff who answered, striding in arm-in-arm with their mother. “We did, thanks. It was just what the doctor ordered.”

“That massage was heavenly,” Beatrice agreed. “Worked out all the kinks from that Godawful flight.”

Charlie stretched his neck from side to side at the reminder. “I shoulda’ gone with you, then.”

Sara muttered something that was likely uncomplimentary under her breath, but, at Everett’s disapproving glower, Charlie bit his tongue. He was unused to this dynamic: previously, he’d been the one delivering looks like that in response to Rhett’s antics. He didn’t particularly appreciate being on the receiving end.

“How’d Zoe go?” Gemma asked. Charlie could tell she was attempting to change the topic, too, if the glare she’d sent Sara was anything to go by.

It was still strange to watch his brother switch completely into daddy mode. Everett grinned at his girlfriend. “We went to the park, came home and she tried some pureed sweet potato – she’s a fan, by the way.” At six months old, they were starting to introduce solids. How did Charlie know this? They’d regaled him and his mother with the information over dinner the previous night. His mum had lapped it up. Charlie had been bored as fuck. “And then she had a bottle and went down for her nap without any issues.”

With his mother cooing at his brother, Charlie did his best not to roll his eyes, but let his mind drift. He loved his niece, but he wasn't all that concerned by the minutia of dealing with an infant. Glancing around the room, his gaze landed on Sara. Still perched on the kitchen bench, she was examining her fingernails, clearly just as interested in the conversation taking place as he was.

Look at that, he thought to himself with droll amusement, we've got something in common after all.

The moment was broken as she sensed his stare and looked up to catch him observing her. Her eyes rolled and she made a shooing motion with her perfectly manicured talons, which, he noted, were painted a vivid, cherry red. He flipped her off and looked away, wishing he could point out what a cliché she was.

Vapid cow.

Excerpt

You stole my cinnamon roll.”

Ahh her voice. Adam’s entire body ignited with it. His heart perked up, started its gallop, and his blood thrummed with awareness. All his senses beat her name. Cassandra. She was so dang pretty, pretending to pout, but fierce and powerful all the same, and all untangled this afternoon. Her hair was loose, long wavy locks flying in the breeze. Vibrant eyes, happy eyes. He climbed down from the fence, tossed his gloves to the side and wasted no time at all in stalking her and wrapping his arms around her. He didn’t kiss her even though it was all that dragged his mind these days, especially with their bodies pressed together. A little flirting was his intention. If it happened to lead to kissing, he’d know he was doing it right.

All bets are off when it comes to those cinnamon rolls.” He leaned in and dragged his lips, his nose up her neck. “Decadent, with all that sugary caramelized goodness, unique places with hints of spices I can’t name.” He did kiss her then, behind the ear, lingering as the heat built around them.

Cardamom,” she breathed. “And orange.”

Never would have guessed. I need you to lead me.” Adam brushed his finger over her full mouth. “All these hidden secrets I’m in search of.”

I don’t know if you want all my secrets.”

She wasn’t pushing him away or pulling back. Progress. “I’m pretty sure I do. Like this one here. Let me guess.” He gently kissed the corner of her mouth then narrowed his eyes at her. “Didn’t know powdered sugar was on those glorious rolls.”

She laughed as if she’d succeeded in tricking him. And he frowned when she wiped her mouth. “Didn’t know I got sugar on me.”

On you? You’re all the sugar and spices wrapped up in the perfect package for me.

It’s from the donuts that came later.”

He squeezed her to him and moaned. “I missed donuts?”

Brought you some.” She handed him a small brown paper bag and when he opened it, he nearly fainted in pleasure.

I bow to those women,” Adam said after inhaling one of the donut holes, still warm, with sugary goodness melting on the outside.

You bow, huh? Guess who made them?” She pointed to herself and his smile stretched across his face. “I had a chance to take a class years ago when I was in Portugal. Sonhos, they’re called. Dreams.”

He gave her a loud, smacking, powdered-sugar-covered kiss and twirled her around, which made her laugh again. Every time she let loose with that beautiful sound, he noticed nuances of it. A spring tree in bloom letting all her bright foliage show, from light green to grassy, growing into a darker hue with certainty. He was going to spend a lifetime making her laugh. “I’ll promise you anything if you make those for me again.”

Maybe you don’t have to beg. Maybe I’d like cooking for you.” Cassandra untangled herself as she said it. Christ, the woman could tease. Telling him she wanted to cook for him while separating them. And this time it was her turn to leave him standing behind.

I need to do some work.” Her smile was all happiness and light.

Now?” He glanced from the food of his dreams to the woman of his dreams.

A little bit.” Was she taking pity on him?

Are we walking again tonight, Cassandra?”

I’d like that.”

Excerpt 18+

A couple hours later, when the sun stood high and bright in the sky, the sound of horseshoes came from the garden. Paul had dozed in the hay, enveloped by the soft jacket lining and lulled by happy bird songs and the rustling of leaves outside, but the commander’s return had him sit up against the wall.

A refreshing breeze rustled Alex’s hair as he reached the Hampton beach. He filled his lungs with salty air, his gaze sweeping the vast Atlantic and looking for spots on the horizon. No ships today, but endless, foam-topped waves of dark blue water rolling toward the shore in a deafening sound.

The more he thought of it, the clearer it became to him. What he essentially needed was a wife for a day, a bride for show to stop the fucking gossip. And once he’d proven to everybody he was a ‘normal’ guy and the guests had gone home, he could return to his nocturnal activities—only keeping them a little more secret from now on.

He unbuttoned his shirt and tied it around his waist. Flames of fire licked his skin, but he was used to being outdoors, and anyway, he didn’t intend to stay out very long. Just needed a breather.

At this hour, few people came to the beach. It was too hot. He scanned the perimeter and saw only a small kid running after a ball down the neighbor’s property.

Wait, wasn’t that…?

Yeah, he recognized the cap and the Superman shirt. And if that was Ivy’s kid, then she couldn’t be far. Alex’s heart jumped in his chest.

The little boy shouldn’t be out in the sun now, though, after having suffered from the heat earlier.

“Hey!” Alex waved.

He was too far away for the kid to hear him. He hurried over, and at the same time, Ivy appeared on the wooden walkway at the bottom of Fremont’s garden.

His breath caught. Her movements made the denim dress mold her svelte yet generously curved body. She may be wearing simple clothes, but they did a poor job of hiding the sexy treasures beneath. Blood rushed to his cock. Thank fuck his tied shirt covered it.

Strikingly beautiful without make-up, loose hair blowing in the breeze, she shook off her sandals and dipped her toes in the sand. At the sight of her son playing with the ball, she broke into a white-toothed smile and chuckled. She looked happy, instantly making Alex feel the same. He sizzled inside, his pulse beat faster. He had missed her so fucking much, and here she was back in his life!

When she turned and noticed him, her laugh faded to a dim smile. She recognized the guy in the limo earlier, not the one with whom she’d slept all night. He could tell from her discreet, polite reaction. It must be because he wore shades, and maybe his beard did its part in concealing his identity, too. If she knew he was her lover from four years ago, her gaze would tell.

He would never forget. Memories flashed in his mind. At the bar, he’d asked if there was any chance they could go somewhere, and she’d taken his hand with an alluring smile and led him to an empty dressing room. There, she’d done a strip show just for him in front of the vanity mirror, its white light bulbs giving the impression she was on stage. Then she’d undressed him, and they’d had wild sex in all kinds of positions, laughing and chatting and screwing over and over again. What a night!

“Hello,” she said, walking toward him.

His heart skipped a beat. “Hi.” Should he tell her who he was? How would she react if he did?

She stopped at a mere five feet away, but still showed no sign of recognition. Mind-boggling. “Thanks for helping out earlier. It was very kind of you.”

“Oh.” He lifted a hand to wave it off. “No worries. The kid looks better.”

“Danny? Yeah, thank God. We’ve had a great lunch, and now he’s playing again like nothing happened.”

“Glad to hear that. He shouldn’t be out too long in the sun, though.”

A frown, like she disliked being told right from wrong. “I know. We’re just checking out the beach. And I forgot my hat and sunglasses, so we’ll go right back”—she pointed over her shoulder—“in a minute. Do you have children?”

“No.” He’d love to have one, though. Kids were great fun, but as a notorious party animal, he wasn’t exactly laying the foundation for a family. He diverted the disturbing subject. “Are you settling well?”

She nodded. “Mr. Fremont’s a gentleman. He’s made sure everything was nice and ready for us in his gorgeous mansion. He’s having a nap, now, that’s why we’re—” She raised her hands, palms up, and tilted her face toward the sun. “Aw, I love it.”

And I love how sexy you look when you do this.

Like when she was coming with her cunt wrapped around his cock in the dressing room, moaning and arching her back, swollen tits pointed in the air.

Eamon, Jonah, and Remy are brothers-in-arms, governed only by their missions. Compensation relates to the nature of the work—gold bars, precious stones, cold cash, or real estate. They share everything in a life that is both dangerous and rewarding.

Tasked with snatching a money launderer, they must include his personal assistant or leave her to the tender mercies of the men searching for him. They take Mallory as their payment this time around.

Mallory Strickland is a loner, the product of her past, someone who won't be at another's mercy again. When she finds herself permanently kidnapped by three men who have chosen her to be their wife, she rebels.

It doesn't matter if these men have supposedly saved her and profess good intentions—and are gorgeous, virile individuals—she refuses to be enslaved. Can she withstand their determined, sensual assault?

She can't—and at what cost…

Teaser Excerpt:

A sting in my thigh…

My fingers sought out a tiny red mark, just above the hem of my skirt. It didn’t rate on the tenderness scale. So, I had clearly succumbed to a drug, expertly administered. At least I’d been spared the binding and darkness of the sack over my head.

Recalling the details helped keep the fear of the unknown at bay, and I resolved to garner as much information as possible. The way I’d done growing up, moving from home to home, never knowing the people or what they were capable of, but having that same dark suspicion of what they wanted from me.

Those men could have done me considerable harm—a blow to the head, to the face, something to quickly subdue me and avoid notice from the street—yet they hadn’t. So they wanted me … intact. I wasn’t sure how to interpret that other than thinking they didn’t want to damage the goods.

Taking a deep breath, I pushed to my feet, feeling the concrete’s rough texture beneath my soles. When I was confident I could stay upright, I tottered toward the wall with the tiny window set high, nearly at the ceiling. Once there, I touched the smooth surface, some kind of plaster, and followed it along to the bottom of the stairs.

I listened hard before cautiously ascending, one careful step at a time. With my ear pressed up against the solid wooden panel, I heard nothing and tried the knob. It remained rigid beneath my fingers, not that I expected it to turn and for me to walk boldly out of here. Wherever here was.

All the same, it took something out of me, and I sank down on the slightly wider top stair and contemplated my prison. And it was a prison. I had no idea why I was the sole occupant or what I’d done to deserve being held in this manner, but I appeared stuck. In an empty house.

I made my way back down, having spied a light switch, which turned on the single bulb hanging in the room. No longer reliant on the scant light from the high window, I commenced to exploring the rest of the area I was confined in. It turned out there was a pocket door tucked near a corner, and I slid it aside to reveal a small bathroom.

There was a sink, toilet, with a roll of tissue sitting on the tank, and a shower stall—sans curtain. A tiny bar of soap, travel toothbrush and paste, and a stack of folded paper towels were on offer—nothing I could see to escape or utilize against my kidnappers, if they were even coming back. I couldn’t say what frightened me more, being abandoned to perish in the crappy room, or facing whoever wanted me here.

I hurriedly made use of the facilities and cleaned up, noticing there was no mirror, either. I could only assume I looked a mess. I felt like one. Despite my efforts, panic began to build again, ratcheting up my heart rate and blood pressure.

To combat the feeling, I hustled back to the other room and took a turn around, examining every square inch visually and with touch. Given its apparent age, the place was really clean, smelling vaguely of bleach—no mouse droppings or spider webs in sight. Aside from the double bed, dressed in a fitted sheet, there was nothing else. Maybe a James Bond type could have dismantled the mattress looking for a box spring and picked the lock with it, but I fell short of the 007 status. Anyway, I figured it was made of pure foam. And the frame was one solid piece of metal.

The sheet resisted my attempts to rip it initially, and then I desisted. What would I do with pieces of cloth? Garrote someone? Set a trap on the stairs? Bind wounds? Hang myself?

My attention returned to the bed frame, calling up the dimensions of a full-sized bed. I stared at the window, mentally measuring the distance to the floor. Maybe… I shoved to my feet in the chilly room when I heard them. A door shut, and male voices sounded above, followed by footsteps—three sets of them, possibly four. I cursed quietly, having missed an opportunity.

I breathed deeply and snatched up the sheet for additional coverage. I sat, striving to look as unprepossessing as possible, my brain working hard, my belly tight with resolve, and my heart rate nearly under control. Time to size up the enemy. Prepared for anything.

Famous last words.

They not only awaken her slumbering body, but also her creativity and the life she used to wield with her brushes.

However, Meg carries a secret of her own which holds her back from surrendering herself fully to their desires. Will Trevor and Jack be able to overcome her reservations, or will the truth of her past ruin their chance for love?

Without Hesitation - MF Romance:

Attempting to find peace from the shattered pieces of her past, Mindy returns to Sandy Ridge where she's drawn to the cabin’s owner, Gage Hart. A carefree fling with a ripped hunk of fuck-a-licious beefsteak is just what she needs to fill the emptiness she feels inside. But Gage's sexy smirk, lone dimple, and deep stare demand more than just the press of her body against his. He wants her love. With his mere presence threatening her resolve to keep things simple, will the pain of her past force her to flee? Or will Mindy dare to open her heart to Gage without hesitation?

Without Condition - MF Romance:

Nothing but Kayla’s fingers and not-so-trusty vibrator have given her an orgasm in almost a year, and the one man she’s hell-bent on breaking her losing streak hides behind his badge. Detective “Hottie Pants” Ford thwarts her every attempt at seduction, and even though vandalisms, a trashed apartment, and physical assault keeps throwing them together, he refuses to attempt a relationship ever again.

She sees past his facade into the man hiding his pain behind unbreakable rules and inflexible conditions, but even after the fiery chemistry between them ignites, she struggles to prove to him she is nothing like the woman who jaded him for life.

Heartbroken, Kayla decides on a vacation to help her peace of mind—and ends up at Sandy Ridge. With danger hot on her heels, can the man she turns to first recognize Kayla for who she is? Will he give her the chance she needs to let him know she wants him without condition, before it’s too late?
