From #WIP #MMromance a #midweektease Nothing gave him more pleasure than watching Tom

#MWTease from WIP #MM romance
Love Unmasked

Scott Palmer stood on the tiny balcony of his apartment across the street from Tom’s place. The street was narrow and one way so he could easily see into some of Tom’s second floor rooms and made it a point to do so when he judged Tom was home. Nothing gave him more pleasure than watching Tom. He traced every contour of Tom’s body with a hungry gaze. He imagined sliding his hands around Tom’s handsome face and kissing him. The thought made his cock jerk.

Today he’d seen Tom arrive in the sexy black truck and waited for him to walk to the front of the building from the carports. Scott watched Tom go into the building and then just as he’d hoped, Tom walked through a room taking off his jacket. A sigh had escaped Scott as he glimpsed Tom’s broad shoulders in a white T-shirt. He’d leaned back onto his balcony door and wished that Tom would one day look around and see him watching. Maybe he’d wave then and they could acknowledge each other occasionally. That would be great, not as good as speaking to Tom, but better than just hanging out staring over at him.

Scott waited for Tom to appear again, but he didn’t, which probably meant he’d gone into his bedroom. Scott had gone to an open house inspection held in the ground floor apartment of Tom’s building the year before. He guessed each apartment had the same layout. It made sense for efficiency of plumbing and stuff. That was the first time he’d seen Tom and the experience still lived vivid in his memory. Tom had been in the communal hall as Scott left the open inspection. His dark blue eyes had met Scott’s and he’d smiled a greeting as he went on his way. Scott’s heart had leaped and continued to pound as he turned to see the hot as hell guy walk up the flight of stairs to the second floor.

Excerpt:
“Something to drink, Miss?”
I looked up to see Florian smiling down at me. “Oh my gosh, what are you doing here? I thought you had the day off again.”
He was wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt with the ship’s logo on it. The dark fabric made his own natural coloring stand out even more. He sat down on the edge of my lounger near my hip, seeming pleased I’d noticed his absence.
“Normally I would have the day off, but a friend of mine is sick and I’m covering his shift.” His eyes swept over my body as he spoke, and the glint of appreciation I saw in them made me feel good.
“Thanks again for your company yesterday,” I said in a low voice.
He smiled. “My pleasure.”
The tone of our simple words exchanged even more meaning between us. Having been single for so long I’d become a master of deciphering tone, and his was telling me he’d had the time of his life. He was so damn cute.
“So what can I get you? You look thirsty, and I wouldn’t be doing my job if I left you that way.” He was leaning toward me, his small round tray forgotten on the deck beside him.
I put an arm underneath my head and removed my sunglasses so I could make better eye contact. “What would you recommend?” My suggestive tone made his eyebrows rise and his cheeks dimple in pleasure.
Even though he was young and a member of the staff, I allowed myself to respond to his attentions. The pang of loneliness I felt at seeing John and Kim together reared its ugly head. What was wrong with getting a little attention? Why not have some fun on this trip? People flirted with each other all the time. And it was my turn to throw off my conservative chains and flex my sexy muscle.
He frowned as though deep in thought, considering the question. Then he exhaled and pointed at me. “You look like the kind of woman who enjoys not only fine wine but great gin as well. Our bartender makes a cocktail I think you would like. Not too sweet and just the right amount of tartness to it.” He said it the way car aficionados described legendary Porsches. I knew right away he was talking about himself.
He had it right on the nose. That was exactly my style. “I’ll give it a try.” My hand was on the chair next to his leg, and I fingered the bare, firm flesh of his thigh. I blamed my earlier glass of champagne for my loosened inhibitions. I sat forward and leaned in close to him. “Maybe the next time you’re off, we can hang out again.”
His eyes widened with pleasure. He opened his mouth to say something, but someone else cut in.
“Sorry to interrupt, but I wanted to see if I could order a couple of drinks.”
I turned my head to see John Montgomery standing behind my chair. From the amused look on his face, he’d heard everything I said. Mortification laced through me.
Florian jumped up. “Of course.”
John gave him his order, and Florian went to the bar. Then it was just John and me.
“Having fun, Ava?” He lifted a brow.
His eyes were hidden under the dark sunglasses he wore, but I got the meaning, the bastard. He was trying to embarrass me for flirting with Florian. I huffed at him and opened my magazine again, refusing to take the bait.
He tried again. “He’s a little young for you, isn’t he?”
“Hm. I think he’s the same age as Kim actually. If you don’t think that’s too young then I certainly don’t.” I allowed the sweet sound of disdain to roll off my lips, then I flipped over onto my stomach, excusing him.
He gave a soft chuckle. But he got the hint because he walked away.

At fifty years old, Sandy had discarded her unfaithful husband #midweekteaser #contemporaryromance

From A Fairy Tale Romance, Evernight Publishing

Sandy Carson unlocked her office door, flipped the notice secured in the middle of the glass panel to ‘Open,’ and clattered to her desk. Her stiletto heels echoed in the large half-empty space. She employed an assistant who generally started work at nine, and that’s why she’d made the eight o’clock appointment with poor Thorn Valmont. That’s how she thought of him now. At first, she’d regarded him as ‘that totally dishy young man who’d bought the old palace’ but after ten years of knowing his secret, she pitied him. Though he was still gorgeous, his plight was nothing short of grotesque.

She tossed her briefcase down and pushed the button on her computer. Leaving it to boot, she went to make coffee in the back room of the office. Sandy enjoyed the cool, white, spacious office. She’d chosen the minimalist look for it. At fifty years old, Sandy had discarded her unfaithful husband and changed every facet of her surroundings at home and in her business.

She took her coffee back to her desk and checked through the contract again. At last, Thorn was opening up the vacation accommodation he’d made in the old palace. Three self-contained luxury apartments were available within the huge house. Thorn lived in another on the third floor. Sandy had sold him the place and now she was going to act as the agent to let out the vacation apartments. She hoped to involve him in greeting the tenants, but Thorn might do nothing more than allow access to the cleaners at the end of each rental. She sighed, thinking about the sad figure he cut when he did appear in town. Tall, muscled, dark hair, and lovely blue eyes, his handsome exterior still couldn’t hide his pain. Well, not from me anyway ... maybe that’s because I know.

The door of the office opened and the man she’d been picturing entered. He smiled as he approached her desk.

Sandy recognized the effort Thorn had made to look businesslike and she stood to shake his hand in greeting.

“Thorn, good to see you … would you like a cup of coffee?”

“Yes, please, Sandy.”

She waved at the chair alongside her desk.
“Sit down, and read the contract. I’ll go get you a cup of coffee.” She handed him the hard copy she’d printed out for signing.

Thorn took it.

Sandy saw his hand trembling. She couldn’t help patting him on the shoulder before she went to the kitchen. “It’ll be okay.” I hope.

When she got back with his cup of coffee, he’d closed the folder, and placed it on her desk. She put the cup down alongside it.
“Have you changed your mind?”

Thorn looked sadly into her eyes.

Her heartbeat sped up. A strange, little tug tightened her stomach. Not for the first time she wished she were twenty years younger. Thorn was exactly her type physically, and such a lovely man, but he was only thirty. I can look though, can’t I?

He answered her. “No, I have to do this. It’s scary, but I have to start earning a living somehow now. My monetary inheritance has just about gone and the rest is property that can’t be sold. I have no right to ask my brother …” he trailed off, and picked up his coffee cup.

Sandy watched him take a sip of the drink. She slid the folder along the desk and turned to the signature page. He’d signed it. She looked back at Thorn. “You’ve signed already …? You won’t regret this. Renting out the apartments will be an easy source of income for you. Seriously, I’ll take care of everything for you. Just let it happen. Don’t end up like the old prince, Thorn. You need to retain hope. One of these days things will get better, I just know it.”

In A Fairy Tale Romance, we meet Thorn Valmont, an honest to goodness prince, who has just purchased a palace along a gorgeous beach. The place needs a lot of work, but that is the least of Thorn’s problems. The palace came with an important letter warning him of a curse and the solution to it, which of course he promptly ignored. His first order of business was to open up a few luxury apartments for rental within the palace to solve his financial problems. On the beach outside the palace, Thorn gets his first glimpse of Grace, who he later finds out is one of his tenants. Elodie Parkes does a wonderful job of weaving a fantastic story in just a few pages and this twisted fairy tale is no different.

Of course A Fairy Tale Romance is certainly not your typical fairy tale, at least not unless the lovers often have a hot tryst outdoors within hours of meeting! As hot as their initial lovemaking was, it is obvious Thorn has a secret when he stands her up for their first date. I understand why he would, but my only complaint was that Thorn should have trusted Grace sooner with his secret - but with all the hot sex they were having it’s no wonder why he didn’t. Elodie Parkes created an imaginative and sensual story with a great, if quick, love affair. Even though there weren’t a lot of supporting characters I have to say that Sandy was very memorable and I hope she gets her own story soon.

 About Shelly:
Who am I? I’m someone who has been writing literally her entire life (and that’s a LONG time) and has always written M/M. My first story was back in high school and I haven’t stopped since. Of course I never dreamed of getting published so needless to say, I’m in heaven! I am currently single but have had long term relationships with both sexes, have a grown daughter (born from artificial insemination back when it was unheard of!) and an adorable grandson. I stay pretty much to myself and have a Bachelor’s in Social Services. I have a diverse background that ranges from theater to health care and currently in accounting (I know! How boring!). I was born and raised in Arizona but currently live in California because this is where the money is! My writing focus is real people, flaws and all, who are hurting or damaged but deserve a little joy in their lives. I love my characters and while this is the first publication, it is by far not the last! I plan on being around for quite some time! You’ve been warned!

From June #romance release #midweektease

From 'Leave me Breathless' June release from Evernight Publishing

The pretty tinkle of the bells that hung over the door announced someone had entered the premises. Amplified through a small electronic device, the bells could be heard all over the building. Rosanna spun around in her desk chair and stood ready to go into the sales area, and then she saw him through the window of the little office. Seth Callahan stood with his hands in his pants pockets looking around at the photographs of her previous creations that adorned the walls.

Rosanna sank back onto her chair. She could see out of the window but she knew Seth couldn’t see in. The window’s glass was especially designed for this. She soaked up the sight of him. His shirt fit perfectly over his muscled chest, his dark hair sexily ruffled, and his gorgeous blue eyes scanned the room. She waited as her heart pounded.

Chrissy, one of her team, went to him. Rosanna watched them talk as they walked to the far end of the sales area. She strained to hear what was said, but couldn’t. She saw Chrissy gesture toward the office, and Seth take a step away from her. He turned, said something, and then he was gone through the front door.

Chrissy headed for the office.
