Her third floor room provided a balcony that overlooked the glittering pool below, and the warm, azure ocean beyond. Emma opened the sliding glass door, and walked onto the balcony. It contained a tiny white metal table, two folding chairs, placed close to the rail, and a lush, broad-leaved plant growing in a massive terracotta pot next to the door.

She hung over the rail and took in the scene below. Bronzed people lay stretched out on the gaudy loungers that the hotel arranged around the pool. A few striped sun umbrellas flapped in the soft breeze. Even from her vantage point on the third floor, the distinctive smell of coconut oil, and other exotic suntan lotions wafted by. The atmosphere was sun-drenched, exciting, and pungent with promise.

Emma turned to go back into her room and saw him.

About a meter away on the balcony of the adjacent room, a man stood silently staring down at the pool.

Emma took in his gorgeous profile, his dark hair falling attractively over his forehead, his perfect nose, and his jaw with just the right amount of stubble. She sighed over his muscular body shown off perfectly in his low riding shorts. A Celtic design tattoo snaked on the top of his arm. It looked incredibly sexy, a short sleeve of swirling ink on his muscle. She paused to stare at him.

 Chapter Three

Sara got through the front door before she lost her composure. Smiles wreathed her face. She grasped the business card and looked at the words embossed there. She read it aloud focusing on the name. Griffen Fox, and what a fox he is. He is gorgeous. What will happen tomorrow? I know what I’d like to happen. Will that be it, he’ll rock up, do the jobs and disappear as if we didn’t have sex, as if we didn’t gaze at each other and want more, want to fuck each other all night? She sighed. Sara left him and went to her office. Dispirited, she booted her computers. Her shoulders slumped as she sat staring at the screen. It was great, she reasoned, as she keyed in her computer password with a sigh. She started her design. Nothing came out right. She deleted a graphic. She tried others. Elodie Parkes has given us two tales of instant attraction that can bloom into something more in Love at First Sigh. The first story is about Matt and Emma who form an instant connection on a beach holiday. After some frisky behavior in the swimming pool, Matt and Emma become inseparable over the course of the vacation, leaving Emma craving for the things he does to her. Although this is a very short story, Parkes produces amazing chemistry in just a few lines and lets us see a strong bond that developed during what was supposed to be a brief sexual fling.

The next story involves Sara and Griffen. She needs tons of work done on her house and he is the man to do it. But in Handy Hubby Hire Sara is definitely in Love at First Sigh as is Griffen from the moment they set eyes on each other. While they satisfy their lust for one another instantly, it takes time for them to get beyond the awkwardness of being strangers slaking their desire. Elodie Parkes is brilliant at illustrating the push and pull of their burgeoning feelings while continuing to succumb to their lust. In just a few short pages she was able to bring out hot love scenes, deeper emotions and insecurities to create a full story.

Love at First Sigh is a great fun day at the beach type of read. There are plenty of amazing love scenes, witty banter and enough lust to set the pages on fire. Short, sweet and to the point is what these stories are, but they are truly memorable.

“I think the washer is going on the hand-basin faucet in the bathroom.”

He gazed at her. “I can fix that today.” His eyes were full of something unspoken.
